Rafael Ortiz-Guzman a highly Creative Producer/Director Cameraman and a 4 time Emmy Award Winner with ample experience in consumer and corporate film and video production including, network on air promotions. A vast knowledge of Hispanic market. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Full command of all aspects of television, film and video production from conceptualization to broadcast. With over thirty five years’ experience in the broadcasting industry.
Rafael Ortiz-Guzman is an alumnus of the University Of Puerto Rico where he earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in the areas of Television production. He started his broadcasting career in WAPA TV Channel 4 in San Juan Puerto Rico, In 1982 got offered a job with Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta. During he’s 20 years with TBS he traveled the world and photographed countless television productions, On air promos. He has been nominated 14 times and has won 4 prestigious Emmy award by the National Television Arts and Sciences and recently awarded the NATAS Silver Circle Award for hes 40 years plus in the industry.
In 2000 he resigned from TBS to form he’s own production company (“ROG Productions”) and began to created television content for the Hispanic market in Atlanta, Georgia. During the last 14 years Rafael has been producing the first legal interview show in Georgia “Leyes Cotidianas” for Public Broadcasting Atlanta.
In 2005, Rafael went on to launch Georgia’s first Hispanic cable television station (Georgia TeVe) In 2007 he went into the freelance world He has worked at Tyler Perry studios. He is a member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is the executive producer of the GHCC yearly Gala. He is a member in good standing of the International Cinematographers Guild.
